Glovebox Technology
for Glovebox Integrated Welding Applications
Historically, argon gas
shielding environments were utilized early on to protect
the molten metal from oxygen, moisture and nitrogen to
reduce formation of oxides, toxic fumes and tarnishing
of the metal surface. Manually operated shielding
systems such as gas lenses, trailing shields and backing
bars require highly experienced and specially educated
personnel to adjust the correct shielding conditions.
These methods are especially challenging and sometimes
ineffective. In particular titanium has the most
stringent demands for purity of the shielding gas. Even
at temperatures below the melting point, minor amounts
of oxygen, moisture and nitrogen cause metal to become
brittle. Any kind of coloration is evidence of chemical
side reactions which take place between the base
material and reactive components of the air despite
every shielding effort.

MBRAUN
systems for oxygen-free and moisture-free TIG welding.
As titanium is very reactive during welding with
either oxygen, moisture or nitrogen the welding
procedure is much easier in a MBRAUN
glovebox. The operator does not need to worry about
protecting the welding spot or the welding seam.
Everything is protected by the argon in the glovebox.

Integrated
Custom Chambers |

MBraun welding chambers can
be specially designed to meet any design requirement.
The glovebox can be integrated with special chambers
with interlock door mechanisms so the enclosed
atmosphere is not compromised during loading and
unloading of material. Additional pictures are shown
below.
